Having Hirsutism (excess body hair) is so embarrassing.

excess body hair can be a real embarrassing problemIn lions the dark long haired male is the leader because it shows he has a lot of testosterone, which means a lot of aggression. But in the male though the reason for being hairy is the same…the results are that most men find it embarrassing to have excess body hair. This is more so true in women.

There are two types of known abnormal hair growth.
One—Abnormal increase in male pattern type of growth. This affects women with body hair grown that is dark and thick on their face, chest, back, groin, armpits. It is caused by too much male hormone. This type of growth is abnormal in women only and is called Hirsutism.

Some women of certain ethnic origins will have more facial and body hair. This is not hirsutism but simply their ethnicity such as women with mediterranean descent (Greek, Italian, Spanish), Russian and Southern Europe will most certainly have far more body hair than oriental women.        hirsutism can be an embarrassing problem

Two—Excess hair growth anywhere on the body that is not related to the male sex hormone. This can have many reasons and is called hypertrichosis and can occur in bothe females or males.

Some medical problems that cause the high amounts of male hormones in women are: Cushings Diseases, Polycystic ovaries and tumors.

Other causes include one that is highly misunderstood and that is that some womens hair follicles are overly sensitive to male hormones and produce ample hair production. Medicines like steroids, hormones and birth control pills can be a problem for some women. It can also be heriditary.
